11-Year-Old Boy Survives Elevator Falling More Than 10 Floors — His Quick Thinking Shocked Everyone
An 11-year-old boy in Chongqing, China is being praised online after surviving a terrifying elevator malfunction thanks to his unusually calm reaction and quick thinking during the emergency.
According to reports, the incident happened on June 11 when the boy entered an elevator with another passenger. After the other man exited on the 9th floor, the elevator doors suddenly closed and the control panel began showing signs of malfunction.
Moments later, the elevator reportedly began dropping rapidly toward the basement levels.

What shocked many people was the boy’s reaction during the crisis.
Instead of panicking, the child immediately pressed the emergency alarm button to notify building staff. He then quickly pressed multiple floor buttons in an attempt to slow the elevator down, believing it might help reduce the falling speed.
At the same time, the boy positioned himself in a half-squat posture while holding onto the handrail tightly in order to lower his center of gravity and reduce potential injuries if the elevator crashed.

Remarkably, the elevator eventually stopped and the child escaped safely without serious injuries.
After leaving the elevator, he even warned other residents not to use it because it was malfunctioning.
The incident quickly went viral online after surveillance footage was released. Many viewers were stunned by how calm and intelligent the boy appeared despite facing such a frightening situation alone.
According to his mother, the boy burst into tears after finally returning home safely. She later said she felt extremely proud of how brave and composed her son remained during the emergency.

Reports also mentioned that the child may have learned some of his emergency reactions from playing video games, where he had previously seen similar survival techniques.
Although elevator experts say pressing multiple buttons may not actually stop a falling elevator completely, safety specialists agree that staying calm, alerting emergency services, and protecting the body properly can significantly improve survival chances during dangerous situations.
