A tragic حادث occurred on October 25 when a 10-meter-high glass bridge at a popular tourist site in Indonesia suddenly collapsed, leaving one person dead and three others injured.
The incident took place in the Limpakuwus pine forest, located in Banyumas Regency, Central Java—an area well known for its scenic attractions.
According to a witness, Mr. Sunarto, a loud sound of shattering glass was heard around 10 a.m. local time. At the moment of the collapse, a group of 11 tourists from nearby Cilacap Regency were standing on the bridge.
The حادث quickly turned into chaos as parts of the glass structure gave way beneath them.
Banyumas Police Chief Edy Suranta Sitepu confirmed the casualties in a press briefing:
Two victims fell to the ground
One person died shortly after the fall
One suffered minor injuries
Two others managed to cling to the bridge frame and survived
Emergency services were quickly deployed to the scene.

Authorities have collected CCTV footage from a camera installed near the ticket booth. According to Benny Timor Prasetyo, Deputy Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit, a full forensic investigation was scheduled for October 26.
Officials are now working to determine the exact cause of the collapse, including possible structural or safety failures.
Prior to the accident, Mr. Eko Purnomo, head of the Limpakuwus forest management, had reportedly contacted relevant agencies in April to assess safety conditions when the tourist site first opened.
Notably, the Geong pine forest and Limpakuwus forest are located within the same area but are managed by different authorities—raising concerns about coordination and oversight.
Following the incident, the entire area has been temporarily closed to facilitate the police investigation.
The absence of the head of the management unit responsible for the glass bridge at the press conference has also sparked public criticism and concern over accountability.
This tragic accident highlights the importance of strict safety standards at tourist attractions, especially those involving high-risk structures like glass bridges.
Authorities are expected to release further findings as the investigation continues.
