Rose water or cucumber juice (optional): Cooling, hydrating, and refreshing for tired, puffy eyes.
This step keeps the actives very mild so they are safer for the eye area.
Ingredients for infusion:
2–3 whole cloves
1 very small pinch turmeric powder (or a tiny shaving of fresh turmeric)
4 tablespoons distilled water or boiled‑and‑cooled drinking water
Method:
In a small pan, add the water and whole cloves.
Bring to a gentle boil, then immediately turn the heat to low and simmer for just 2–3 minutes.
Turn off the gas, add the tiny pinch of turmeric, stir, and cover with a lid.
Let it sit and cool completely (at least 20–30 minutes).
Strain through a very fine cloth or coffee filter so there are no particles.
You should get a pale yellow, very light‑smelling liquid. This is your clove–turmeric infusion.
Important:
The color should be soft, not deep orange. If it is very strong or smells too spicy, dilute with more cooled water.
This infusion is only a percentage of the final serum to keep it gentle.
Choose one:
For oily/combination skin: More aloe vera, less oil.
For dry/mature skin: More oil, slightly less aloe.
Base ingredients (example for 20–25 ml serum):
2 teaspoons pure aloe vera gel (smooth, no added color or perfume)
1 teaspoon sweet almond oil or jojoba oil
3–5 drops vitamin E oil (or pierce one capsule)
1 teaspoon rose water or fresh cucumber juice (optional, for cooling)
Method:
In a clean glass bowl, add aloe vera gel.
Slowly add the chosen oil, whisking with a clean spoon or mini whisk until it becomes a smooth, creamy gel.
Add the vitamin E oil and rose water/cucumber juice (if using), and mix again until uniform.
Now you will add only a small amount of the clove–turmeric infusion.
Add ½ to 1 teaspoon of the cooled infusion into your aloe‑oil base.
Mix very well so the water‑based infusion and gel blend properly. If it becomes too runny, add a tiny bit more aloe to thicken.
Smell and check the color:
It should have only a mild clove smell and light yellow tint.
No strong spice smell and no intense color, otherwise dilute with more aloe gel.
Transfer the finished serum into a small, dark glass bottle or a tiny pump bottle. Keep it in the refrigerator for extra cooling and better shelf life (preferably use within 2–3 weeks, since it’s a natural formula).
Always do a patch test:
Apply a tiny amount of the serum on the side of your neck or under the ear.
Wait 24 hours to check for burning, redness, or itching. If any irritation appears, do not use it near the eyes.
Application (night routine, on cleansed skin):
Take a very small drop on your ring finger (this finger applies the least pressure).
Gently tap the serum on the under‑eye area, starting from the outer corner towards the inner corner, staying at least 3–4 mm away from the lash line.
Do not rub, drag, or apply directly on the eyelid or too close to the eyeball.
Use at night, 3–4 times a week initially. If your skin tolerates it well, you can slowly move to daily use.
